Odds Settings
Understanding odds settings and how they control odds display and calculation
Odds Settings are configuration options that control how odds are displayed, calculated, and filtered for fixtures within your TRADE subscription. They allow you to customize the odds feed to match your business requirements and trading strategy.
Overview
Odds Settings determine:
Which markets you receive odds for
How odds are calculated (margins, rounding)
Which odds are displayed (min/max ranges, line limits)
How odds behave when they fall outside acceptable ranges
Key Concepts
Hierarchy
Odds Settings follow a hierarchical structure where settings can be configured at different levels:
Sport - Applies to all fixtures in a sport
Location - Overrides sport for a specific country/region
Competition - Overrides location for a specific league
Fixture - Overrides competition for a single fixture
Settings are inherited from higher levels if not specified at the current level. If no settings exist at any level, LSports' default odds settings are used.
Margin
The margin is the profit built into the odds. You can configure margins at different levels (sport, league, or market) to control your profitability. See Margin for more details.
Min-Max Odds Range
You can set the highest and lowest odds you will allow. Odds outside this range can be:
Suspended (bet, line, or entire market)
Kept within range (automatically adjusted to the min/max boundary)
Line Limits
For handicap and over/under markets, you can control:
Line types - Which line types (½, ¼, 1) to receive
Maximum lines - Limit the number of lines displayed per market
Odds Ladders
Odds ladders define rounding rules for odds display. They ensure odds are displayed in a format that matches your platform's requirements (e.g., decimal, fractional, American).
Configuration
Odds Settings are configured through the TRADE user interface:
Fixture Ordering - Set odds settings when ordering fixtures
Trading Floor - Adjust odds settings for active fixtures
For detailed configuration instructions, see the Odds Settings User Guide.
Templates
You can create and use templates to quickly apply consistent odds settings across multiple fixtures or competitions. Templates can be customized per fixture while maintaining the base configuration.
Provider Coverage
Odds Settings work in conjunction with Provider Coverage to determine which providers' odds are used for each market. You can prioritize providers and configure how odds from multiple providers are combined.
